Los Angeles – She wore Oscar de la Renta, he wore Gucci, but the hottest couple in show business right now didn't do a bit of snuggling on the "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" premiere red carpet on Monday night, Nov. 16, in Los Angeles. We're talking about Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, or Edward and Bella, as their legions of fans think of them, the star-crossed lovers of author Stephanie Meyers' four-book vampire-werewolf series and now two-movie franchise.
Most of those fans on hand at the premiere were the under-20 set, but at an earlier press conference, Pattinson revealed that his fanatic "Twilight" fans come in all forms.
"There was a woman who came up to me the other day who must've been in her 90s and was saying this stuff. It's very unusual," he laughed. "And they say the exact same things as 12-year-old girls. That is kind of bizarre!"
His hot co-stars probably wouldn't mind getting the same attention; Pattinson can write his own ticket in Hollywood these days. The fans seemed pretty happy to see the other hunks that form the vampire coven and the wolfpack in the new flick, including Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, Michael Welch, Jackson Rathbone, and Justin Chon. They joined the sexy gals who populate "New Moon," from series newcomer Dakota Fanning to returning stars Anna Kendrick, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, and Elizabeth Reaser in being slightly overwhelmed by the massive crowds.
And there weren't just fans behind the barricades, either. Jennifer Love Hewitt brought her main squeeze Jamie Kennedy to check out the film, Richie Sambora had his daughter Ava on his arm, and Dakota's sister Elle Fanning and Facinelli's wife Jennie Garth turned out, too.
"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is expected to break box office records when it opens Friday, Nov. 20, but Lautner warned at that earlier press conference that fans may not be quite ready for what the movie offers.
"I honestly don't think they're expecting to be as heartbroken as I think they will be," he said.
